How to Play the Seven Card Stud Poker

The Seven Card Stud Poker is another interesting poker game version loved by poker gamblers to play. This type of poker can be played by two to eight players who are required to place an ante at the initial game to be followed by 5 rounds of betting.

Each player will be receiving four face-up cards and face down cards of three. poker players will realize while learning how to play the Seven Card Stud Poker that their goal should be to play a hand that has the highest value consisting of 5-card combinations from the over-all seven cards that were dealt to them.

There is a variation of Seven Card Stud Poker which is the Seven Card Stud Hi Lo where the player's goal will be to create the highest or the lowest card value of five taken from the seven cards dealt to them during the game.

To play Seven Card Stud Poker more efficiently, it is necessary for poker players to learn how to play this type of poker game with good knowledge about the rules involved. Just as in other poker game variations, an ante is first placed by each player. The ante refers to the bet placed by poker players without having seen the cards yet.

The players are then dealt with three cards, two of which serve as their private card which are placed face down and the other one is the up card which is dealt face up. The bringing in bet then takes place where the player having the lowest card value and suit will take the first bet.

Another face up card is then dealt to each player called the fourth street and the second round of betting begins. The player playing a hand of two cards with the highest value will make the bet which is termed as having the action. In case of a hand tie, the player who sits closer to the dealer's left will get the favor of making the bet.

The fifth street is dealt to each player which refers to the dealing of another face up card. The third betting round will then follow which is done by the player having the highest card of three.

The sixth street is dealt to the players referring to another dealing of face up card to each player. The fourth round of betting then commences initiated by the player having the highest four card value hand.

The final or the seventh card which is referred to as the river is dealt face down while the final round of betting starts from the player having the highest hand value of all the players.

There are times when there is no enough cards left to deal each player their final card on the river, it is allowed to place a single community card to be shared by all poker players. The community card will be placed on the table so that all players can share the single card.

The showdown follows where the player having the highest hand value will win the pot. The players need to obtain highest card value using five cards taken from all the seven cards dealt to them.
