Learning to Play Omaha Poker
Casino poker has different types of game varieties and one of which is Omaha Poker that is played similarly as the Texas Hold'em Poker. Omaha can be played by two to ten players that consist of four betting rounds.
Learning how to play Omaha Poker is not difficult. When a poker player has learned how to play Texas Hold'em, learning how to play Omaha will be just natural to a player.
The players are dealt with private cards and community cards just as in Texas Hold'em only Omaha players get four private cards instead of two with the same number of community cards as in Texas Hold'em which is five.
The goal of each player is to win with the highest hand value that must consist of two private cards and three community cards. There is another version of Omaha Poker that basically has the same rules with the addition of players creating the highest or/and the lowest hand from their two private cards and three community cards called Omaha Hi lo.
It is a requirement that for players to reach showdown, they must strictly use two of their private cards together with three community card to make a hand. Every player on the game will each have their turns of acting as the dealer. A dealer button will be passed around in every hand in clockwise direction to indicate that it is the player's turn to be the dealer on that betting round.
The small and big blinds are placed by the first and the second player to the dealer's left respectively. The small blinds are smaller bets compared to the big blinds and these are called blinds or ante which means they placed the bet without seeing the cards yet.
Blinds are known to be live bets that warrant other poker players to make a call, fold or raise. The players are then dealt face-down with four private cards. The first bet occurs when the player to the left of the big blind makes a bet.
The second betting round happens as there are three community cards dealt face up where the next player to the left of the dealer makes the bet. This is the betting round called the flop.
On the betting round called the turn, the fourth community card is dealt where the betting can double in amount. The last betting round is called the river where the final community card is dealt.
After the river, showdown follows where all players hand value are ranked. Whoever has the highest hand value will be declared as the winner who will take home the pot.
The betting rounds involved with Omaha Poke is similarly done as with Texas Hold'em only the players have to be specific to create a winning hand that must come from two private cards and three community cards dealt to the players.
